My name is Chuck Emerson and I was an Army Dustoff Medic with the 45th Medical Company
Air Ambulance in Vietnam Oct 68 - Oct 69 and I still see the faces looking up to me from
43+ years ago begging me "Doc please don't let me die". Even though I never lost a patient,
the images will haunt me forever.

I am teaching a class at Stevenson University on combat medical care in Vietnam and am using General Brady's book as one of the texts for the class. I will also use your website as a resource for my students

You are a hero! Like my father who is a WWII veteran - there are many people alive today because of your selfless brave service. Thank you. God bless you.

Was temp attached to the 45th in 1969 supporting river boats. Could not have worked with a better group of gentlemen in a war theater.

Chuck I have a memorial page on facebook for a friend of mine who was KIA 2/5/1969 His name is James Ronnie McNish. Would it be possible for you to write on his page explain what Dustoff is. He was in the 45th his helicopter was the Red Baron. The pilot was Captain Poole and Ronnie was the Crew Chief. Gary Johnson was the medic. The entire crew was KIA. The name of the page is In memory of James Ronald McNish and the crew of the Red Baron. I read your writings on dustoff and the crew members. If you could explain about dustoff I would be forever thankful. I could not share your writings to facebook. Thank you

My Son is a Captain and flys a Black Hawk Medical Rescue for the Army. I visited him in Hawaii and he was wearing a "Dustoff Would Go" Shirt. He proudly explained the meaning. Very moving Story. Love our Military.
